Gettysburg

Every schoolkid in America knows about Gettysburg, but if you've never been here, you can't fully appreciate its haunting history and significance. So, it's time for a field trip! The town and countryside are chock-full of historic sites---some familiar, some surprising. Take a driving tour of the battlefield or a candlelight ghost walk along the streets where history happened, or check out a reenactment or a living history presentation. But don't forget---there's much more here than the Civil War. Excellent golf courses, scenic train rides, wineries, and orchards make Gettysburg a destination that will satisfy both the history buff and the visitor seeking an exciting escape from the ordinary.

American Civil War Museum

This must-see attraction presents the entire story of the Civil War through life-sized dioramas depicting the Underground Railroad, John Brown's execution, and Jennie Wade's last moments. The Battleroom Auditorium brings the war to life in a multimedia extravaganza.
